After their “Ode to Mothers” last season with “Je T’aime Mama” scripted across their couture, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana had set their own standards very high for an even bigger comeback this season. What better icon to celebrate than their own home country; Italia.

The runway was an eclectic array of Italian memorabilia and souvenir-like images on the glorious dresses. They
Splashed embroideries of Pisa and Rome across beaded gowns and the models donned caftans and held purses that looked like the ceramics of the Amalfi coast. Their trademark Sicilian siren look of black lace, red roses, and romantic prints was still very evident throughout the show as well. It was colourful, symbolic, and fun, while still making a statement.
