Power Juice It Up

I recently tried this power juice recipe from Donna Hay fresh and light magazine. It’s also the first time I buy a Donna Hay mag.. The guy at my magazine store recommended it to me and honestly it’s amazing! There are all these healthy Colorful recipes in this issue #6;  Avocado recipes, raw snack bite recipes, power juices, yummy salads! And the pics are so enticing. It’s like a foodie IG account in a magazine. Definately need to see what the next issue is about.

During this pregnancy I find I’m often craving a sugar boost and I’m always thirsty so veggie and fruit juices are honestly the best thing for me right now. I can’t say it enough how as soon as I drink it, I feel an instant refreshment and boost of energy.

Here’s the recipe below I made a couple days ago from Donna Hay mag. My secret ingredient? LIME!!                                            It added the perfect zest and complimented the mint nicely. Almost a mojito….. Almost. Lol

(Oh and just a tip: you’ll want to add quite a bit of water and blend really well especially if you like your juice smooth like I do.  You don’t want to feel like you’re drinking a leafy kale salad right)

Hope you enjoy! And I’ll be sharing some more recipes soon that I make with my juicer-my favorite appliance right now.Lol

Please feel free to share any of your favorite juice recipes.. I’m always looking to try a new boost.

With Amore always,

Francesca xo

Recipe:

100g kale, chopped

1 cucumber, chopped

1 banana

1/2 cup mint leaves chopped

2-3 cups of water

1 1/2 cups of ice

Juice of 1 lime

Blend everything except the ice in a blender, adding the water as you go along depending how thick you like it. Add the ice and blend until crushed. Voila!
